The NASEO Geothermal Heating and Cooling Working Group brings together State Energy Offices to expand the use of geothermal heating and cooling technologies. It prepares State Energy Offices to lead market development by focusing on key challenges and opportunities, such as streamlining permitting and regulations, workforce development, technology demonstrations, and industry partnerships. The Working Group will explore ground source heat pumps, geothermal district systems, and other subsurface technologies.
Through the Working Group, states will learn from each other and industry practitioners on the policies, business models, research, and innovative financing that scale geothermal heating and cooling technology to meet state reliability, affordability, and load management goals.

The Working Group will convene once a month with a blend of state-led discussions and engagement with private sector experts. Please reach out to Maddie Koewler (mkoewler@naseo.org) for more information.
